Code of Conduct
A good institution provides opportunities for learning, personality development and character building. In order to achieve this objective Government Dyal Singh Graduate College has devised a comprehensive code of ethics/Rules & Regulations for its students:
- Every student must respect and obey his/her teachers.
- Every student is required to be punctual and regular in his/her classes.
- Every student’s behaviour with college clerks, administrative staff and Janitors should be polite.
- Any political, sectarian or immoral activity is strictly prohibited within the college premises. No student is allowed to show his affiliation to any political party/sectarian group.
- Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited in the college premises. Any student found violating this rule may be expelled from college or an F.I.R. will be registered against him or both.
- No outsider is allowed in the college.
- Every student must take care of college property/furniture. Any student found damaging college property will be dealt with severely.
- Every student is expected to observe high moral values and decent behavior during his stay in the college.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in the college premises. Violation of this rule will render a student liable to strict action.
- No student is allowed to paste, exhibit or distribute any poster, pamphlet, handbill and any notice on the college campus. Any student found guilty of bringing outside influence in the college shall be liable to disciplinary action/ expulsion from the college.
- Mobile phones are not allowed in the college premises. Violation of this rule may be resulted in the confiscation of the gadget.
- It is obligatory for students to abide by the Proctorial Rules notified by the college from time to time.
- Breach of the above mentioned Rules/Regulations/ Instructions will render the students liable for strict disciplinary action such as fine, struck off from the college roll or expulsion from the college.
Proctorial Board
For the maintenance of general discipline and order, there is a Proctorial Board in the college. Cases of violation of college discipline are to be reported to Chief Proctor. Any fine or penalty imposed by the Chief/Deputy Chief Proctor cannot be remitted or cancelled in any case.
Fine
With reference to letter no. 4571-80/G-2 dated 13-2-2017, following are the different rates of the fine
- Improper Uniform Rs.100/-
- Without Uniform Rs.150/-
- Breach of any discipline Rs.200/- upto 1000/-
- Bringing camera, tape recorder or cellular phone Rs. 1000/-
Appeal to Parents / Guardians
Your child is a precious asset. You are responsible not only to pay dues but also for his/her character building and personality development. It is your moral obligation to check and monitor your child’s social activities and to keep in contact with the teachers /college administration for his/her academic progress. We assure you of our candid cooperation and full support in this regard. Moreover, Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) is regularly arranged and parents are requested to participate in it to discuss the academic performance of their children.
